Bob Hudson, Champaign-Urbana, IL  February, 2023

I’ve been enjoying Kathleen’s Zoom yoga class for over 2-½ years. I joined in 2020 hoping it would aid my journey to health, which required both losing weight and dealing with various body aches associated with shoulder problems, mild arthritis, and some stenosis in both upper and lower spine. Between her coaching, the physical exertion plus stretching of yoga, and the camaraderie it provided, the class provided a huge boost. It even helped keep me on track with my cycling and dieting, as I could really feel the benefits while practicing yoga. It was central to being able to reach my health goals. I continue in the class because I still enjoy the ever-changing routines and appreciate what it does to prevent my body from turning into an achy, stiff mess.

I look forward to Kathleen’s yoga classes every week!  She is one of the best yoga teachers I have encountered over many years of studying yoga.

Kathleen carefully structures her classes so that we are warmed up and prepared for challenging poses. Her extensive knowledge of anatomy informs her verbal directions and prompts. I have been taking her class online for the past two years and I am always amazed that she can give such helpful and targeted suggestions even though we are not in person.

Kathleen has a warm and welcoming presence and is an excellent teacher. She is very sensitive to the varying needs of her students and she usually offers several variations to a pose in order to make it more accessible or more challenging. I have been studying yoga with Kathleen in person and online for the past several years, and I highly recommend her classes to students of all levels!

Nancy, Los Angeles, CA, USA November, 2022

My name is Nancy.  I’ve been taking Chair Yoga with Kathleen for about two years.  I’d had no prior experience with yoga.  A friend encouraged me to try it because I wasn’t doing much else during Covid and I needed to do something for my body.  In the previous two years, I’d broken my left humerus twice and I’d also broken my left ankle, my left foot and my right clavicle.  Needless to say, my movement was severely restricted and my body was very stiff.

It didn’t take long to feel the benefits of yoga.  At this point, I’m a completely different person.  I have much better strength and range of motion in my left shoulder and in my left ankle. My whole body feels better—my balance and coordination are better and I feel much stronger and more limber.  Kathleen has always encouraged me to do only what I felt comfortable doing; I now feel comfortable doing what everyone in the class is doing.

I love this class and look forward to it every week.  I love Kathleen (even though I only know her from the Zoom class; I live in Los Angeles and have never actually met her though it’s a goal).  I love the other people in the class, too.  We always take a little time to socialize and catch each other up on our lives; I want to meet all of them at some point.

Marian, Saratoga Springs, NY, USA August 2018

I am 69 years old and have been doing yoga since I retired nine years ago.  It has been a wonderful, life changing experience for my psyche as well as for my body. During these nine years, I have had at least six yoga teachers. Kathleen has been the most inspiring one for me and I would like to share my reasons.

Kathleen exhibits many strengths as a yoga teacher. She is prepared, knowledgeable, caring, cheerful and she is able to challenge the participants in her classes.

Being a former teacher and a person who likes organization, I appreciate Kathleen’s preparedness for each class. She brings a combination of familiar and favorite poses and stretches, along with some new and challenging ones. She frames each class with background information including the chakras we are addressing. She invites us to set a personal intention for each class.

It is apparent Kathleen cares about the success of her students. If any of us have particular weaknesses or concerns, she is quick to offer a modification. She encourages us by sharing her own journey into yoga which adds to our comfort level. Her objective for each class is that we enjoy the session and make it our own. A favorite directive of Kathleen’s is to “pull your lips back to meet your ears.” In other words – smile! And we do. Namaste.

Dear Students, I am so very grateful for all your lovely comments.  Thank you for your trust and commitment to our practice together.  It is my very great joy to share class time and virtual space with you each week.
